Bhopal: A question on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s pet scheme “Swachh Bharat” campaign asked in the current year’s Madhya Pradesh Public Service (MPPSC) examination has left candidates bemused.
The state civil service aspirants were clueless as to which one of the multiple answer options given for the question put in the MPPSC examination paper should be ticked as right while majority of the candidates wondered if the answer “lies” in the question itself.
The intriguing question read, “The Swachh Bharat campaign led by Hon Prime Minister has a great impact on the society because 1) People understood the importance of cleanliness, and 2) People across the country like the campaign. The multiple choice answers were: a) Assumption 1 is strong, b) Assumption 2 is strong, 3) Both assumptions are strong, and d) Neither of the assumptions are strong.
“I wonder if it is a question to test one’s general knowledge or a public relations exercise to announce ‘Swachh Bharat’ campaign a huge success in the country. I believe the question itself has the answer declaring that the scheme has made a great impact on the society, leaving us no scope to answer it”, a candidate said on condition of anonymity.
