Fire outbreak at East hill: Shop gutted, loss of Rs 5 lakh estimated
Two units of Fire Force from Meenchanda and Beach rushed to the spot and doused the fire.
Kozhikode: A shop was gutted and another three were damaged partially in a fire that broke out in a building at East Hill in Kozhikode on Wednesday morning.
A fancy shop named “Nakshathra” in the C.P Arcade owned by Mr Salam from Malappuram was gutted down in the fire. Two units of Fire Force from Meenchanda and Beach rushed to the spot and doused the fire.
An estimated loss of Rs 5 lakh was reported. Following the fire, the traffic at East Hill-Edakkadu Road was disrupted for few minutes. ACP Traffic (North) A.K Asharaf visited the spot and led the rescue operations. Nadakkavu Police registered a case. The reason for the fire is yet to identified.
