UP CM Akhilesh Yadav questions lab report in Dadri case

Yogi Adityanath, on the other hand, welcomed the lab report and demanded immediate release of the 19 persons arrested in the case.

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav, on Wednesday, questioned the veracity of the forensic lab report which claims that the meat found in the house of the Dadri lynching victim was beef.

“Where was the sample sent, who received it? There was nothing objectionable in his house. Every eye is on this matter. Everyone wants that the victim’s family should get justice because murder had taken place,” the chief minister told reporters in Ambedkar Nagar district.

BJP MP Yogi Adityanath, on the other hand, welcomed the lab report and demanded immediate release of the 19 persons arrested in the case. State BJP president Keshav Maurya asked the Akhilesh government to apologise to the people of Bisada village where the incident took place.

The AIMIM staged a dharna in Lucknow on Wednesday demanding justice for the Dadri victim’s family. The BJP MP, while talking to reporters in Gorakhpur, also targeted the media for biased coverage on the issue and asked the state government to withdraw all benefits given to the victim Mohd Ikhlaq’s family.

Sanjay Rana, the father of the main accused Vishal Rana and a local BJP leader in Dadri, said he will now go to the police station to register a case against Mohd Ikhlaq and his family for cow slaughter. The charge sheet names Vishal Rana, and cousin Shivam as the main conspirators who led the mob to Akhlaq’s house. The fresh report has been sent to the Noida police and submitted to a fast-track court.
