Estimate crop loss for sanctioning compensation to farmers: Errabelli

WARANGAL: Panchayat Raj Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao asked officials to conduct a field inspection. They must estimate the crop loss that occurred with unexpected rains for the past few days and console the farmers that the state government is ready to help them.

The minister held a review meeting on rain damage with the district collectors of Warangal and Hanamkonda along with the officials of various concerned departments here at his camp office in Hanamkonda on Monday.

Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao is concerned about the farming sector and is ready to support the farmers who faced loss due to recent heavy rains, the minister said.

The minister instructed to speed up the process of purchasing food grains by making all necessary arrangements.

Conduct meetings with rice millers and order them to procure food grains without unnecessary deductions. Take steps for transporting all the food grains that were procured immediately to the rice mills without stocking them at the purchasing centres, he ordered.

Wardhannapet MLA Aroori Ramesh, Husnabad MLA Vodithala Satish Kumar, Warangal district collector Praveenya, Hanamkonda district collector Siktha Patnaik, agricultural officer Usha Dayal and the project directors of the DRDO Srinivas Kumar and Sampath Rao were among those who were present.
