Serial killer Marri Srinivas to stay at Warangal jail
Hyderabad: Marri Srinivas Reddy, 28, who was held by the Bommalaramaram police of Rachakonda commissionerate, was produced before the Bhongir court for judicial remand on Wednesday. The court directed that he be lodged at the Warangal prison.
Marri Srinivas Reddy, a lift mechanic hailing from Haajipur village in Bommalaramaram mandal of Yadadri Bhongir district, was arrested on charges of kidnap, sexual assault, and murder of three minor girl children aged between 11 and 17 years in a span of four years. He was also an accused in a murder case of a woman at Kurnool in 2015.
Accused, the police said, was psychotic who used to target minors for his pleasure and killed them, in order to take revenge against the villagers, who once had shamed him for misbehaving with a woman.
He had buried the three girls in a well on his land which was abandoned for a long time. The police recovered the three bodies in a span of four days and sent them for forensic analysis and also are performing a DNA test.
In order to extract more information about the criminal activities, the police are also planning to file a petition in the court seeking his custody for further investigation.
