KT Rama Rao brushes off Globarena Technologies link
Hyderabad: Telangana Rashtra Samiti working president K.T. Rama Rao said on Wednesday that Opposition parties are misleading the people by alleging he has links with the Globarena Technologies contract.
In an address to party workers on the occasion of Labour Day at the Telangana Bhavan, he warned Opposition parties of filing defamation cases against them for making false and baseless allegations, linking him to Globarena Technologies (the company said to be responsible for the Inter results fiasco).
He said the contract for data processing was awarded to Globarena when he was IT minister, but questioned in what way the IT ministry is connected to the education department.
He said that the contract was for Rs 4.30 crore, but Opposition leaders are alleging that a Rs 10,000 crore scam is involved in the awarding of the contract.
“If the Opposition parties want to fight politically with Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, there are several other issues. But they are raking up the Intermediate results issue as they have no other issues to target the CM,” he said.
Maintaining that the Intermediate result controversy is a very sensitive issue, he appealed to students and parents not take any decisions in a hurry.
He also appealed to the media to “maintain restraint” with regard to the results issue.
Referring to the challenge thrown at him by Congress’ V. Hanumantha Rao, to swear before Goddess Peddamma that he had no links with Globarena Technologies, Mr Rao asked if he should respond to “a meaningless challenge from a buffoon.”
