Kadapa: Ukkayapalle dumpyard to be developed as park

The Swacha Andhra Corporation has granted Rs 3.09 crore to the 99 acre dumping yard.

Kadapa: AP State Haritha Tribunal chairman Justice B. Seshasayana Reddy along with the municipal corporation officials inspected the dumping yards at Ukkayapalle and Madhyamadugu in Kadapa on Wednesday.

The Ukkayapalle dumping yard will be developed as a park in scientific method with Rs 23 crore World Bank funds, he said.

Speaking to the media, Mr Reddy said that previously, the waste form Kadapa city was dumped at Ukkayapalle. The officials shifted the dump yard to Madhyamadugu in view of public health. Now, the old dumping yard at Ukkayapalle will be transformed as a park, he said.

Ten acres of dump yard will be transformed as a park with walking tracks, solar lighting system, sporting instruments and greenery, Mr Reddy said.

The 99 acre dumping yard in Madhyamadugu has been granted Rs 3.09 crore from Swacha Andhra Corporation he said. 156 tonnes of waste is produced from Kadapa, the government is investing huge amount on dumping yards to recycle waste, he added.
