Naidu asserted on the need for modernisation of workers’s skills, along with protecting their rights.

Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said that the aid offered under Chandranna Bima Scheme would be increased to Rs 10 lakh from the present Rs 5 lakh. He participated in the International Workers’ Day Celebrations (May Day) at Vijayawada on Wednesday.

Mr Naidu asserted on the need for modernisation of workers’s skills, along with protecting their rights. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi damaged and weakened all sectors and workers faced a lot of trouble due to his biased policies to help the corporate sector.

Telugu Desam and its associated workers’ organisations conducted the May Day celebrations at Amaravati Convention Centre in Vijayawada. Mr Naidu said that Telugu Desam was formed by N.T. Rama Rao, to serve the workers.

He claimed that the TD Government implemented numerous welfare schemes for the workers. Mr Naidu recalled that he observed the problems of drivers during his walkathon and implemented welfare schemes for drivers.
