314 from tribal, Telangana welfare schools qualify for JEE

TS Residential Educational Society secretary Dr R.S. Praveen Kumar congratulated the toppers and lauded the remarkable results.

Hyderabad: For the first time, 314 students from the TS Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TSWREIS) and the TS Tribal Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TTWREIS) cleared the JEE Mains exam, the results of which were announced on Monday.

Amongst the 314 students, 179 are from Social Welfare Residential School. 135 Tribal Welfare Residential students also attended the IIT-JEE Mains exam 2018. Among those who attempted and passed this year are sons and daughters of daily-wage workers, agricultural labourers, construction masons, vegetable vendors and tribal people, according to the officials.

TS Residential Educational Society secretary Dr R.S. Praveen Kumar congratulated the toppers and lauded the remarkable results. He credited the success to the vision of Chief Minister KCR, the support of Scheduled Caste Development minister Mr G. Jagadish Reddy and tribal welfare minister Mr Azmeera Chandulal.
