Clarify stand on Digvijaya's ISIS remark: BJP's Dattatreya to Congress
Hyderabad: Union minister and BJP leader Bandaru Dattatreya on Tuesday asked the Congress to clarify its stand on its general secretary Digvijaya Singh's controversial comments on the Telangana Police.
The Congress veteran, in a twitter post on Monday, alleged the Telangana Police have set up a "bogus" ISIS website to radicalise Muslim youth and encourage them to join the terrorist outfit.
The TRS government denied the charge.
"Why is the Congress party silent on Digvijaya's comments? It should make its stand clear on the issue. A responsible leader like him (Singh) should not have made such comments," Dattatreya said.
"Many police personnel have lost their lives while discharging their duties. I request the Telangana government to act suitably (in the case)," he told reporters here.
Following the comments two complaints were filed against the former Madhya Pradesh chief minister.
Meanwhile, Dattatreya said the Telangana government has sought over Rs 2,300 crore fund from the Centre for bifurcating agricultural and non-agricultural power feeder lines.
Dattatreya, the Lok Sabha MP from Secunderabad, said he will discuss the issue with Union Power Minister Piyush Goyal soon.
