Telangana seeks Centre's help to build 3 flyovers
HYDERABAD: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday sought central help for construction of three elevated corridors on the Warangal, Bengaluru and Vijayawada highways. KCR spoke to Union transport minister Nitin Gadkari over phone in this connection and got an assurance that the projects would be taken forward.
The chief minister, in his talk with the Union minister, sought sanctioning of 'Rs 950 crore for construction of 6.40km of elevated corridor from Uppal to Ghatkesar on Warangal highway, Rs 290 crore for a 10-km elevated corridor from Aramgarh to Shashabad airport on Hyderabad-Mahabubnagar-Bengaluru highway and Rs 170crore for an elevated corridor (including service roads) of 26km on Hyderabad-Suryapet-Vijayawada route.

The Uppal to Ghatkesar route is more than 15km. But the elevated corridor project has been planned for 6.40km. For the balance 9-kms, the state government has settled for 6-laning.
Mr Rao sought a Rs1,410 crore financial assistance from the Centre for these elevated corridors. Gadkari responded positively to the CM’s request and promised to sanction funds. Later, Mr Rao spoke to the municipal administration minister K.T. Rama Rao and chief adviser to Telangana government Rajiv Sharma, who are currently in Delhi, and asked them to meet Mr Gadkari and submit proposals.
