Massive dump yard catches fire in Hyderabad
Cherlapally fire officer said that they had received a call from locals at about 7.30 pm and a fire tender was rushed to the spot.
Hyderabad: The Jawaharnagar dumping yard caught fire on Sunday evening and spread a thick blanket of smoke over some parts of Jawaharnagar, Yapral and Balajinagar. Cherlapally fire officer V. Shekar Reddy said that they had received a call from locals at about 7.30 pm and a fire tender was rushed to the spot. A second fire tender was deployed from the Secunderabad station as the fire began to spread to other areas.
However, the fire was doused at about 8.30 pm. But, even as the fire personnel were packing up to leave, fire broke out once again. Mr Shekar Reddy said a third fire tender, this time from Malkajgiri station, was sent to the spot. Firemen were trying to control the fire till last reports came in.
