Speaking on the occasion, Usha announced that IOA has formed a committee to resolve the various affiliation issues that it is facing. She appreciated JITO (Jain International Trade Organisation) and Andhra Pradesh Athletic Association (APAA) for organising the Ahimsa Run in which over 2,000 athletes participated.

The runs covered distances of 3 KM, 5 KM and 10 KM for both men and women in age groups of 12–35 years, 36–50 years and above 51 years. For smooth conduct of the run, NTR Vijayawada police diverted traffic.

Usha underlined that Vijayawada is known for its talented runners and sprinters. It has won many medals in national championships. “The habit of running and walking is good for health. However, everyone should follow suggestions from doctors to keep themselves healthy,” she said.

Minister Rajani appreciated JITO for organising the run for World Peace and Non-Violence. The run is also beneficial for health, she underlined.
