Police book case against advocate

Kakinada: Rajamahendravaram One Town police have booked a case against an advocate based on a complaint made by a mobile police party.

One Town circle inspector L. Lakshmana Rao told Deccan Chronicle that when a special police party had been patrolling the Bharat Bommalu area near Somalamma Temple, a group of persons fled away from the spot.

However, advocate D. Subhash, a member of the Rajamahendravaram Bar Association, and his friend, who had remained at the spot, entered into an argument with police and behaved in an unruly manner.

On Sunday morning, advocate Subhash lodged a complaint with One Town police that police personnel had beaten up and injured him when he had been going to his house late last night. Personnel of the mobile police party also lodged a complaint with One Town police that the advocate had created hurdles while they had been discharging their duty.

Accordingly, a case has been booked, the CI said.

Meanwhile, Rajamahendravaram advocates have given a call for boycott of courts on Monday.

AP Bar Council member Muppalla Subba Rao charged that police behaved cruelly and beat up the advocate. Subba Rao demanded that the government suspend the police personnel involved in the incident.
