Bengaluru: Former external affairs minister and BJP leader S M Krishna on Monday lambasted Congress president Rahul Gandhi and described him as a "pathological liar" for referring to a diary purportedly belonging to state BJP president B S Yeddyurappa with entries of Rs 1800 crores allegedly paid to top leaders of the party, despite authorities of Income Tax department dismissing it as a fake document.
In a statement released to the media, Mr Krishna, while referring to Mr Gandhi's allegations against Mr Yeddyurappa during his address in Bengaluru on Sunday, remarked "It is appalling that such a liar has been the president of the country's oldest party. At the same time, the Congress president has the cheek to say that Nirav Modi escaped during the BJP regime. The fact of the matter is that it was during the Congress-led UPA government that Nirav Modi obtained loans to the tune of several hundred crores but nothing was done by the Congress to recover the loans.”
The former CM hailed “Chowkidaar PM Narendra Modi” for taking “meaningful, concrete and effective” steps not only to recover money but also bring Nirav Modi back to India. “It is pertinent to remind Sri Rahul Gandhi that it was the government headed by Chowkidaar PM that brought Christian Michel-the kingpin in the Augusta Westland Helicopter scam-back to India,” he added. Mr Krishna cautioned Mr Gandhi that he would continue to be the “butt of rid
icule” in case he continues to utter lies every day.
