Edappadi K Palaniswami hits back at Stalin in Tiruchy campaign
Tiruchy: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami justified the ‘mega alliance’ the AIADMK forged with the BJP on Monday, saying it was to help establish a strong and efficient government at the Centre and also to see that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi will become the Prime Minister again.
Palaniswami made this remark, electioneering in Tiruchy Lok Sabha DMDK candidate Dr. Elangovan here. He started from Thuvakkudi, passed through Thiruverumbur, Gandhi market, Uyyakodanthirumalai, Somarasampettai, Chinthamani and Srirangam and addressed brief meetings at wayside places in and around Tiruchy. He alleged that the DMK-front was an ‘opportunistic’ alliance and people will see it.
Palaniswami in particular came down heavily on the DMK President M.K Stalin for his baseless allegations against the AIADMK Government and attempting to confuse the voters. He might be frustrated seeing AIADMK’s mega alliance, claimed Edappadi.
Harping on Stalin comparing him (EPS) to an ‘earthworm’, the AIADMK leader said he accepted it as the “earthworm is useful to farmers.” Stalin’s remark indicated that “I am a friend of farmers. But, Stalin is a virus who deserves to be eradicated from politics, just as pests are destroyed to save crops”, Palaniswami added.
He called upon the people to defeat Stalin in the April 18 elections so that Tamil Nadu state will grow further. “The DMK is always involved in highhanded actions whether they are in power or not,” charged Edappadi Palaniswami, adding, it will not be possible for the DMK to come back to power in Tamil Nadu.
