Speeding car hits PVNR Expressway, none injured
Hyderabad: Four passengers in a speeding car had a narrow escape when their vehicle rammed the median on PVNR Expressway on Sunday morning. Traffic police said the incident happened as the driver could not negotiate a curve on the stretch.
“Though there is a signboard indicating the speed limit at 40 kmph at the curve where the incident happened, the car was moving at much higher speed,” said a traffic official from Cyberabad.
On Sunday morning, a Skoda Rapid car was heading to Shamshabad from Mehdipatnam through the expressway. While passing through the stretch at Dairy Farm junction area, the driver lost control at the curve and hit the median.
As the vehicle was moving at a high speed, it jumped over the median and landed on the opposite lane. The passengers sustained minor injuries as they were wearing seat belts.
They were rushed to a nearby private hospital and were discharged after first aid. As there were only minor injuries, they did not approach police with a complaint.
Vehicular traffic on the lane towards Mehdipatnam came to a halt for about half an hour. Traffic personnel and police from Rajendranagar station rushed to the spot and moved the vehicle to a side using a crane and restored traffic movement on the stretch.
