Rachakonda police chip in for pilgrims' progress
Hyderabad: Rachakonda police arranged a bus to transport people visiting the Moula Ali dargah on the birth anniversary of Hazrath Ali on Sunday. The police arranged for the minibus for the benefit of the elderly visitors, the disabled, pregnant women who planned to visit the shrine to offer prayers on the occasion.
Malkajgiri inspector Komraiah said police commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat had come up with the plan to help to the visitors. Elaborate security arrangements were also made at the shrine with about 150 police personnel deployed at the site. In all, close to 5,000 devotees visited the dargah till Sunday evening and about 2,000 were expected to visit it during the night. Mr Komraiah said this was the first time they have come up with this initiative which was appreciated by visitors. “Many people used the service to reach the shrine, and it which might be made available on Monday also,” he said.
