CPM-led Dalit Shoshan group protest today

The DSMM which functions as Pattika Jathi Kshema Samiti (PKS) in the state has decided to take out Raj Bhavan march on April 6.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: While Dalit organisations have given a Bharat Bandh call on April 2 to protest against dilution of provision of SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, in Kerala the CPM led Dalit Shoshan Mukti Manch (DSMM) will hold protest day as Left trade unions called for general strike. The DSMM which functions as Pattika Jathi Kshema Samiti (PKS) in the state has decided to take out Raj Bhavan march on April 6 against the attempts being made to water down the stringent provisions of atrocities act.

“The Centre may have decided to file a review petition in the SC, but we want them to take a strong stand on the issue and ensure the Act is not diluted. Separate marches will be taken out to central government offices across the state on the same day,” said PKS leader and CPM Rajya Sabha MP K Soma Prasad. He said the BJP led government and the Sangh Parivar had stepped up attack on the dalits across the country.
