Wakf Board: IAS officer is encroacher
Hyderabad: The TS Wakf Board has decided to lodge a complaint against a senior IAS officer with the state government and the DGP for allegedly making construction on a land belonging to the Wakf Board. Mohammed Saleem, chairman of the Wakf Board, said that it has come to the notice of the Board that a senior IAS officer is constructing a house on 900 sq yd at Khanamet near Hitech City that belongs to the Wakf Board.
He said the Board would take a decision in its April 10 meeting on auctioning the right to collect the offerings to several major dargahs in the state, including Janpahad and Jahangir Peeran. The Board has been losing revenue for not conducting the auction of rights. The Board will also review the issue of extension of the term of Mutawalli of Dargah Yousufian at Nampally six months earlier than its date of expiry by the former CEO of the Board, contrary to the law.
