Student Missing in Bengaluru: Brother cries foul
Bengaluru: A final year engineering student went missing after he left his room in J.P. Nagar, where he stayed with his brother, after texting him that he was going to stay with his college friends for 2-3 days to prepare for his internals on Tuesday morning.
The missing student, Ayush Kumar, 22, is a final semester student from the Electronics & Communications Engineering stream of the JSS College in Uttarahalli.
Ayush’s brother Aman Gupta has lodged a missing complaint with the Kengeri police and alleged that he suspect some foul play and his college friends were hiding about his whereabouts.
The college authorities were not at all supportive stating that he did not gone missing from the college campus. They asked Aman to search for his brother at his home town Hajipur in Bihar.
Aman works as a relationship manager at a private bank in the city and both the brothers were staying at a rented accommodation in J.P. Nagar 6th phase.
According to Aman, Ayush withdrew Rs 5000 on Monday night using Aman’s ATM card and once again drew Rs 3,000, the following morning.
He then texted Aman about his plan to stay with his friends. Aman messaged back stating ‘Ok, take care and do well in your internals’ – but the message went undelivered.
“Since then until Friday, his phone was switched off and there is no information on his whereabouts,” Aman told this newspaper. While Aman spoke to his brother’s friends, they told him that he was depressed since Holi, stating that he did not want to become a normal vocational engineer. He wanted to become a famous innovative engineer and achieve something on his own.
“But my brother was his normal self over the past 10 days and he was happy that he got placed in a campus interview at a reputed company and there was no truth in his friends’ claims,” Aman told Deccan Chronicle. Kengeri police have registered a missing case and are investigating.
