Chennai: Having produced 301 more coaches as compared to the previous year, the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) succeeded in surpassing the prescribed target of 1839 coaches.
The ICF produced a record out turn of 2005 coaches of 54 variants. “As a result of the meticulous planning by officials and the dedicated efforts that were put in by the work force, ICF was able to create history by crossing the 2,000 mark,” said secretary to the general manager K.N. Babu.
Of the 2005 coaches, 306 are stainless steel ones, constituting 35 per cent of the total out turn which throws light on ICF’s readiness in switching over to stainless steel manufacturing.
