BJP refutes allegations of Chandrababu Naidu about Centre's bias

Krishna Rao said that the railway zone was a cherished desire of the people of Andhra Pradesh.

Vijayawada: BJP leader and former IAS officer Mr I.Y.R. Krishna Rao has written an open letter to Chief Minister Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu refuting allegations levelled by Mr Naidu. Earlier Mr Naidu had written an open letter to the Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi on his visit to Visakhapatnam on Friday. Replying to Mr Naidu’s letter, Mr Krishna Rao alleged that for the last two years there was a concerted effort by Telugu Desam led State Government to spread untruths not based on facts on all these issues.

Mr Krishna Rao said that the railway zone was a cherished desire of the people of Andhra Pradesh. “When it has materialised, it may not be fair on your part to raise issues which may not be materially relevant. If the zone runs on loss it is for the railways to make good,” his letter stated. It further stated, “Regarding the cyclone relief for Hudhud, it is a common practice to release part of the funds as part of ongoing programmes and balance exclusive to the calamity and the same system is followed for the other States.” Regarding the non-visit of PM during the time of Titli cyclone, Mr Rao Said, “The PM visit happens for natural calamities of a certain intensity.”

Mr Krishna Rao said that special package was welcomed by Mr Naidu in lieu of the Special Category Status but Mr Naidu had taken a U-turn blaming the BJP. He stated that the Polavaram project should have been taken up by the Central Government but the TD Government took over the Polavaram project and turned it into a mess. He said the mess needed to be cleared to move further ahead.

In the letter, Mr Rao claimed that the Revenue deficit issue was a settled issue as the Centre had clearly informed about fulfilling the normal amount but not the amount spent on electoral promises. He defended that the BJP Government had fulfilled majority bifurcation assurances despite having 10 years of time for fulfilling them, in hand.
