Kannur: Two more CPM workers were arrested by police here on Thursday for involvement in the murder of Youth Congress leader SP Shuhaib from Edayannur. Mattannur CI AV John said that while one was helping the killers’ gang in hiding the weapons that was used to hack Shuhaib, the other helped in the conspiracy. Both of them, Rajath (22), son of Hareendran, Palayado and Sanjay (21), son of Narayanan, also from Palayod, were nabbed by the police on Wednesday night but the arrest was recorded on Thursday.
Rajath was part of the conspiracy to kill Shuhaib and Sanjay helped in hiding the swords as well as one steel bomb that failed to explode. One of the four steel bombs that were thrown at Shuhaib did not explode. With this, the total number of CPM workers arrested so far has been raised to eight.
