Kochi: The trial in the actor abduction and sexual assault case is slated to begin at the Ernakulam Principal Sessions Court on March 14. The court sent summons to all 12 accused including actor Dileep, eighth accused in the case, directing them to appear in person before it on the date, sources said. Earlier, the Angamaly First Class Judicial Ma-gistrate had accepted the supplementary charg-esheet submitted by the Special Investigation Team in the case. It then handed over the case to the Principal Sessions Court, considering the gravity of the case.
As per the additional chargesheet, Dileep had conspired with main accused Sunil Kumar aka Pulsar Suni to commit the crime on February 17, 2017. The SIT enlisted over 355 witnesses in the case including Dileep’s ex-wife Manju Warrier and wife Kavya Madhavan. As per the case, actor Dileep had conspired with key accused Sunil Kumar aka Pulsar Suni to commit the crime.
The incident took place on February 17 last year when a gang led by Pulsar Suni allegedly intercepted the actor’s car near Parambayam along the National Highway while the victim was en route to Kochi from her house in Thrissur. They allegedly sexually assaulted her and recorded the the same using mobile phone. As per the chargesheet, Dileep allegedly nursed a grudge towards the victim over her reported involvement in the break-up of his previous matrimonial relationship.
