Probe into car adventure by IG Suresh Rajpurohit's son
Thrissur: The minor sons of not only businessmen but also police officials are causing headaches to their parents by taking to the wheels. This time it is Mr Suresh Rajpurohit, IG (Training) at Kerala Police Academy, Ramavarmapuram here, who has landed in trouble after his minor son drove the cop’s official vehicle in the academy compound some three months ago.
On the basis of the video footages aired by news channels of the daring act of the ‘culprit,’ Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala has ordered a probe into the matter by director of the academy ADGP (training) Rajesh Dewan.
Officials at the academy said that they had not received any official complaint on the matter. The video was shot nearly three months ago and some of the cops in the academy, where the IG has his quarters, had taken up the matter with DGP T.P. Senkumar.
“I am yet to get an official order from the DGP on the matter. How the inquiry will be conducted can be decided after getting the order,” Mr Dewan told DC.
Mr Rajpurohit, who is presently outside Kerala, said that he did not know about the matter and would comment after returning.
The IG was earlier in the news allegedly for imposing an unofficial ban on beef in the menu of the canteen in the academy. Earlier, on April, 6, 2013 , business tycoon Muhammed Nisam, the convict in the Chandrabose murder case, was booked by Peramangalam police under the Motor Vehicles Act and Juvenile Justice Act after he uploaded on the YouTube the video of his nine-year-old son riding his Ferrari at Sobha City at Puzhakkal here.
