Chakri's mother, brother want tenants to move out
Hyderabad: Late Tollywood music director Chakri’s mother and his brother staged a protest at their son’s residence in Somajiguda on Tuesday, alleging that its tenant was not paying them rent for the past eight months.
The two said that they became orphans after Chakri’s death in 2014, while Chakri’s wife Sravani went away to the US and was not bothered about them.
“Sravani sold all of Chakri’s assets and is living alone in the US,” said the deceased’s brother Mahith Narayan.
He said he and his mother G Vidyavathi were unable to pay the rent, and hence were sent out of the house they were residing in so far. “We want the tenant who occupies our house to vacate so that we can move in,” he said.
They said Chakri purchased the flat in the Varun Sargam villa located in Somajiguda in 2004 for '60 lakh with a bank loan. The flat was registered in the names of Chakri and his mother. “Till Chakri was alive, he paid the installments for the flat, but after his death in 2014, the payments were pending.
In 2014 August, a rent agreement for the flat was made between Vidyavathi and A Madhavi for a two-year period. However, for the past eight months, the tenant stopped paying rent,” the two said.Mahith said that due to financial problems, they could not pay rent for their residence at Yousufguda and as a result they were ‘asked out.’ The two said Sravani even sold their flat at Tirupati, as also two cars before shifting to the US. “The case is in court. At least till the court gives its judgment, we request that we be given a single room in the flat,” Mahith said.
Tenant Madhavi denied the allegations, saying she was paying the rent to the loan account. “It is their family issue,” she said.
