Ravi Pujari arrested baber shop in Darkar
Bengaluru: One of the most notorious gangsters Ravi Pujari, who was on a run for decades and operated from different countries, would soon land in Karnataka police net.
The dreaded gangster, who issued numerous extortion calls to prominent persons in the country and carried out several criminal activities through his gang members, has been detained in Dakar, Senegal. Pujari is all set to be extradited to India and would be brought to the city soon.
Pujari was on the Interpol's Red Corner Notice list for long and was living under a new name, Antony Fernandez, in different West African countries. He was picked up from a barber's shop in Dakar.
Indian intelligence officials are now coordinating with the West African police to bring Ravi Pujari back to India. He is wanted in several cases including making ransom and threat calls to Bollywood actors, politicians and other prominent personalities in Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra and Gujarat. Chief Minister Kumarswamy took the credit for the arrest and said that it was after the formation of the coalition government that the Pujari was taken seriously.
