Bengaluru: Speaker of the Assembly Mr K R Ramesh Kumar said he would not interfere in the unsavory episode involving Congress MLAs J N Ganesh and Anand Singh at a resort on the outskirts of the city, recently.
“I will be responsible only if the fight had taken place inside the House,” he told the media.
Clarifying that his permission was not required for police officers to initiate legal action against Mr Ganesh, Mr Ramesh Kumar said that he would be informed only in the event of arrest of Mr Ganesh.
The home department would inform whether he is in jail or released and the same information would be given to the House, he added.
Answering a question on ‘dissatisfied legislators of Congress’, Mr Ramesh Kumar said that he was not aware of such legislators, as no one had approached him. “Get them to me, if you find any. I don't know if there are 14 or 40,'' he added.
When asked about his foreign tour, Mr Ramesh Kumar said that he was very much in Karnataka, at his farm house. “When I want to go abroad, I will go,” he added.
