Adilabad: Police seize hidden teak logs worth Rs 6 lakh

Police claim that in the last few days they have seized teakwood worth Rs 15 lakh from various places during raids.

Adilabad: In coordination with forest officials, Adilabad police led by SP Vishnu S. Warrior conducted search operations in the forest to find teak logs hidden.

The team found teak logs worth Rs 6 lakh near Jogipet village in Sirikonda mandal on Friday and seized the logs.

The team had to walk a long distance to reach the spot where the logs were hidden. The team conducted awareness programme among the villagers of Keshavapatnam against the felling of trees and destroying forest land. The SP told the villagers that the state government was serious about curbing smuggling and felling of trees.

Police claim that in the last few days they have seized teakwood worth Rs 15 lakh from various places during raids.

Police have seized teakwood worth Rs 25,000 from Kosai village and Rs 2 lakh wood from Nagapur village in Boath mandal. They also seized teakwood hidden in Fakirgutta, Uamapathinagar on the Utnoro outskirts.

Utnoor DSP N. Venkatesh, CI Prasad, SI Venkanna, Pullaiah, and Swamy Goud and other forest officials were present.
