Disappointed by budget, says Congress
Nellore : Former Union minister Panabaka Lakshmi on Thursday expressed disappointment over the Centre's failure to allot funds for Dugarajapatnam Port and Gudur-Dugarajapatnam railway line in the Union budget.
Speaking to this newspaper, she said the budget also failed to address unemployment in the country and ignored welfare of farmers, women, Dalits and weaker sections of society.
The senior leader slammed the BJP government for absence of any mention on Railway Division to AP.
DCC president of Nellore district Panabaka Krishnaiah also found fault with the centre for the step-motherly treatment to Andhra Pradesh. He said the budget is in favour of corporate and industrial sectors.
Reminding that the Centre has failed to fulfil election time promises with respect to MSP for agriculture products since last four years, the Farmers Federation State Secretary Chirasani Koti Reddy ridiculed the centre for announcing 50 per cent MSP to farm produce in the last year in office.
