Karnataka government orders reposting of DySP Anupama Shenoy

The DySP was transferred from Kudligi for keeping Labour Minister P.T. Parameshwara Naik's phone call on hold.

Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who last week, defended the two abrupt transfers including one on official duty (OOD) assignment of Deputy Superintendent of Police, Kudligi in Ballari district Anupama Shenoy (in pic) to Indi in Vijaypura and Athani in Belagavi district in a span of 48 hours has backtracked and re-posted the officer to Kudligi. The government order reposting Ms Shenoy was issued on Monday evening.

The DySP was transferred from Kudligi to Indi and later sent on official duty to Athani in a matter of two days for keeping Labour Minister P.T. Parameshwara Naik’s phone call on hold. Mr. Naik in a public meeting had boasted about transferring Ms Shenoy for not taking his call. He later threatened her with dire consequences for ignoring a Cabinet minister. The officer in her defence had told the minister that she had received a call from an unknown number, while she was speaking to her senior officer.

“The OOD order of DySP Anupama Shenoy was cancelled this morning and the government has posted her back to Kudligi,” said an official source. Ms Shenoy had not taken charge of her new assignment. The Director General and Inspector General of Police Om Prakash on Sunday visited Ballari and spoke to senior officers and Ms Shenoy.
