GHMC polls: Government declares holiday today

Central government employees have been permitted to attend duties or leave early to exercise their vote.

Hyderabad: Polling for the GHMC elections will start at 7 am on Tuesday and end by 5 pm. Those who are inside the polling station by 5 pm will be given a chance to vote even if it takes till midnight, said election authorities on Monday.

The state government has declared a holiday on Tuesday for elections. Central government employees have been permitted to attend duties or leave early to exercise their vote.

Voters without the electronic photo identity card can show 21 other ID proofs as prescribed by the state Election Commission to cast their votes.

Experts have been deployed for immediate repairs of EVMs in case any error occurs at polling stations.

Bacilities like drinking water and special arrangements for the physically challenged have been made at all stations.
