Modi disses bid to form alliance
Hyderabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has dismissed efforts of the Mahagathbandan to fight the Bharatiya Janata Party at national level.
In an interview, Mr Modi criticised AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s efforts to form the Mahagathbandan.
“Mr Naidu, who initiated the alliance in Telangana state Assembly elections, has failed miserably at the first instance,” Mr Modi said, alleging that Mr Naidu had joined hands with the Congress setting aside his party’s policies.
About Mr Naidu’s allegation that Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is trying to form the Federal Front with the blessings of Mr Modi, the Prime Minister said, “I don't know that Mr Rao has initiated the Federal Front.”
The Prime Minister said, “there is no meaning in the Mahagathbandan and there is no need to discuss about that.”
Mr Modi said that the Lok Sabha elections are the janata vs Mahagathbandan. “What happened to Mahakutami in Telangana? They are are coming together with It is with a selfish motive.”
He said the leaders who opposed the Congress throughout their life, and those who had quit the Congress are now coming together in the name of Mahagathbandan. There will be no benefit to this kind of politics, he said.
