Hyderabad: Special demolition drive from January 3 to 11
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority has decided to undertake a special drive, from January 3 to 11, to demolish unauthorised structures in its jurisdiction.
Four teams have been constituted and the development authority will also seek the help of local authorities.
At a review meeting, HMDA commissioner Mr B. Janardhan Reddy instructed officials to act sternly against all unauthorised constructions and layouts. As per his instructions, the municipal authority will first identify unauthorised constructions and upload the information on its official website. The authority will also issue caution notices in newspapers, asking citizens not to buy such plots.
To further curb unauthorised constructions and layouts, the metropolitan authority will share the information with all line departments like Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board and electricity departments.
The municipal authority has also asked local government agencies in the villages to demolish unauthorised constructions. HMDA will provide enforcement assistance to them. The deputy superintendent of police, enforcement cell, will co-ordinate with the police for protection.
