Hyderabad: A large number of devotees visited the Chilkur Balaji temple on Tues-day to start the New Year on an auspicious note.

Apart from the Chilkur temple, people have thronged many temples on the New Year Day.
The heavy rush at the temple, which is popular among people for praying for US visas, resulted in police deploying its personnel to manage the crowd.
Observing that it was an English New Year, the Chilkur priest said, “It’s good that people are visiting temples in large numbers on this day to get the blessings of the Lord Balaji.”
