Hyderabad: Nobel laureates Professor Erwin Neher and Professor Hiroshi Amano will deliver lectures at University of Hyderabad (UoH)’s Savitribai Phule Auditorium on January 3 and 4. Professor Hiroshi Amano who won the Nobel prize in Physics will talk on ‘Blue LEDs and Transformative Electronics for Developing Sustainable Smart Society’.
Professor Erwin Neher who won the Nobel in Physiology for Medicine in 1991 will deliver a lecture on ‘Ion Channels: Their Discovery and their Role in Biomedicine and Pharmacology’ on January 4 at the Auditorium of School of Life Sciences. Both lectures are open to the public and will also be webcast. The UoH started the Hyderabad Lecture series with an aim to bring eminent persons to lecture on topics of wide interest and contemporary issues at several locations in the city.
