3,032 pleas filed over land issues

As per statistics available with the High Court, there are 2,003 cases pending in Telangana and 1,029 in AP.

Hyderabad: As many as 3,032 executive petitions for compensation in land acquisition have been pending before the various civil courts across both states of AP and Telangana.

The PIL Committee of the Hyderabad High Court had found fault with state governments for not implementing the orders passed by the civil courts enhancing the land acquisition cases.

As per statistics available with the High Court, there are 2,003 cases pending in Telangana and 1,029 in AP.

It may be recalled that the High Court recently taken up the case on pendency of executive petitions based on a letter by Mahabubnagar district judge G. Venkata Krishnaiah.

The court on December 26 directed the Chief Secretaries of both states to file reports before the court explaining the number of cases pending for the compensation and the quantum of amount and the time required to pay compensation in pending cases.
