Udupi: A person was injured by lightning and 17 houses damaged due to rain and wind in Udupi district.
Officials said that Manikanta of Hosanadu in Kundapur Taluk sustained injuries and was admitted to the hospital after he was injured by lightning.
The heavy wind and rain resulted in partial damage to 17 houses in Udupi district. Of these 15 houses were damaged in Brahmavar Taluk and two in Kundapur Taluk. The total loss is estimated to be about 6.25 lakh.
