Hyderabad: Schools get more time to submit details of fee

The Prof Tirupathi Rao committee has reportedly asked for another 2 months.

Hyderabad: The Prof. Tirupathi Rao Committee on Thursday gave schools more time to submit fee details amid allegations by the Hyderabad School Parents Association that the panel is getting used to having its tenure extended. The committee has reportedly asked for another two months.

The HSPA to wait till Friday, as the last day promised to submit the report was Thursday, after which it has to walk out of the committee. The parents alleged that every time the deadline was passed there is some new excuse cooked up by the government to extend it.

Mr Ashish Naredi, member, HSPA, said, “They say there are two aspects. One, that they have given more time to schools to submit their data. The officials have data of 5,000 schools and in last meeting the committee had committed that it would submit the re-port irrespective of schools submitting data. It’s in school management interest to delay it”.

He added, “Secondly, the committee says it is visiting schools for more details but were 250 days not enough to visit? Why did the idea to visit schools arise now? The are excuses to delay the report.”
