Hyderabad: The Global Entrepreneurship Summit, with the theme ‘Women First, Prosperity For All’, saw few self-made women from India.

The likes of ICICI Bank CEO Chanda Kocchar, or DRDO director Tessy Thomas or Rama Kalyani Akkiraju, master inventor at IBM.

The audience could easily connect to such speakers. Their experiences were relatable as many participants of GES did not have a spring board to launch them.

“My life is a very inspiring story, I studied in school because education is mandatory for children in middle class family. Then I did engineering, went to the United States for my Masters and became a software engineer” said Ms Akkiraju, who was a panellist at two sessions.

The panellists said that while education was a mandate, their families supported them in advancing their careers.
