Visakhapatnam: With cyclone Nada heading towards the Tamil Nadu coast, AP would likely receive moderate rain in the next few days.

The deep depression over southeast Bay of Bengal developed into the cyclonic storm Nada on Wednesday and is currently located about 770 km southeast of Chennai. It is expected to intensify and cross the north TN coast between Vedaranniyam and Puducherry, close to Cuddalore, late on the night of December 1 or early December 2.

Nada may bring rain to south AP
Due to this, a few places in south coastal AP and Rayalaseema could get moderate rains from Thursday. Heavy rains are forecast for Prakasam and Nellore districts on December 2. Squally winds reaching a speed of 65 kmph would prevail along and off the Tamil Nadu and Puducherry coasts from Thursday. Wednesday was dry over the state and the lowest minimum temperature was 14ºC at Nandigama in Krishna district.
