Chandrababu Naidu irked by below-par office construction
Hyderabad: AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu expressed anger at municipal administration minister P. Narayana and AP Capital Region Development Authority officials over the low quality of construction of his chambers at the Velagapudi temporary secretariat.
Mr Naidu occupied his chambers on Wednesday. Later he held a meeting with top officials including those from the transport and roads & buildings departments.
Expressing anger at Mr Narayana and the CRDA commissioner, Mr Naidu said the quality of construction was poor. He said that the arrangements inside the chamber were not good. Mr Naidu said that the contractor, L&T, had in the past constructed the D Block at the combined AP Secretariat in Hyderabad with quality material.
The construction of the first block at the Velagapudi secretariat where Mr Naidu‘s office is located was also given to L&T. Mr Naidu expressed the doubt that L&T might have subcontracted the construction.
Earlier several ministers had expressed unhappiness over the construction of their chambers and refused to occupy them. They moved in after the chambers were renovated. The first cabinet meeting at Velagapudi secretariat will be held on Thursday.
