In last round, 1.35L seek place as voters

Hyderabad: About 15,000 people are expected to have enrolled as voters on Tuesday, last day of the exercise in the 15 Assembly constituencies. Around 15,000 people had applied on Monday.

From October 4 to 3 pm on October 31, 1,35,756 people had sought enrollment of which 83,000 had been approved, , district election officer Ronald Rose said. “The remaining names are under process of approval,” he said. The final rolls will be published on November 15 as per the election schedule.

In the same period, the names of over 45,000 electors were deleted, as they were found to be dead or were duplicate voters.

He stated that so far gold and cash worth Rs 45.94 crore had been seized as part of the model code of conduct (MCC) enforcement. “Out of the 152 grievances received by the district Committee, 121 complaints have been solved,” Rose said.
