TSRTC conductor, wife run over by APSRTC bus
HYDERABAD: A TSRTC conductor and his wife were killed when an APSRTC bus heading towards the city rammed into their bike on Thursday.
The accident took place at about 7 am near Balijaguda crossroads near the Peddamberpet Outer Ring Road while Bokka Ramana Reddy, 56, and his wife Vajramani, 49, were proceeding to Abdullapurmet on their bike. Ramana Reddy was working as a conductor with TSRTC at the Hayathnagar depot (Staff No. ADC/200233). His wife was a home maker.
The APSRTC bus (AP 05 Z 5093), belonging to the Tuni depot, was coming to Hyderabad from Vijayawada when it crashed into the bike. The couple suffered serious injuries and died on the spot.
Abdullapurmet police said Venkataswamy, the bus driver, was driving in a rash and negligent manner. Based on a complaint from B. Shivashankar Reddy, son of the deceased couple, a case has been registered against Venkataswamy under Section 304 A of IPC. Bodies of the couple were handed over to their family after autopsy at the Osmania General Hospital.
