AP government asks Centre to take action on Schedule X assets

AP Chief Secretary S.P. Tucker has written to this effect to the secretary, ministry of home affairs.

Hyderabad: The AP government has requested the Centre to take action based on the judgment of Supreme Court on sharing of assets of 10th Schedule institutions between the AP and TS, since the deadline prescribed by the Court has already expired. AP Chief Secretary S.P. Tucker has written to this effect to the secretary, ministry of home affairs. In his letter, Mr Tucker said in pursuance of the meeting held on September 23, 2016, the Ts government held a meeting on October 18, 2016 to arrive at the mutual settlement through negotiations in respect of bifurcation of assets of the institutions in the 10th Schedule of the AP Reorganisation Act.

Mr Tucker wrote that the meeting ended without any agreement being reached. He said in these circumstances, the Centre was requested to take further action based on the judgment of Supreme Court in the civil appeal arising out of Special Leave Petition as the two month time limit prescribed by the Supreme Court has already expired.
