Hyderabad: As many as 56 fire mishaps were recorded across the state by the fire services department in 36 hours, from 12 noon of Friday.
The fire control room said fireworks were the cause for 24 of them. In Hyderabad, 31 fire incidents were recorded of which 14 were caused by firecrackers.
Hyderabad district fire officer M. Srinivas Reddy said the only loss of property was recorded when an electric shop at Troop Bazaar caught fire. The other fires were reported at open garbage sites.
