'University of Hyderabad' to present 111 gold medals

Justice L. Narasimha Reddy, Chancellor of the University will preside over the event.

Hyderabad: The University of Hyderabad (UoH) will be presenting 111 gold medals to a total of 210 PhD and 1,458 meritorious students graduating at the 20th Convocation of the University on Monday. The Chancellor’s Award for meritorious achievements in teaching, research and contribution to the corporate life of the campus and the Distinguished Alumnus Award for the alumni who have attained eminence in their field of work are among the awards that will be presented at the convocation ceremony.

Prof. Tushar Jana from School of Chemistry, Prof. Alok Singh from School of Computer and Information Sciences, Prof. Nagaraju Gundimeda from School of Social Sciences, Prof. Ravi Kumar Gutti from School of Life Sciences and Dr Md Zahidul Haque from School of Humanities will receive the Chancellor’s Award.

Dr C. Mohan Rao, CSIR Distinguished Scientist at CCMB and an alumnus of 1984 batch, PhD-Chemistry, and Ch. Dwaraka Tirumala Rao, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Vijayawada, and an alumnus of 1984-86 MSc-Mathematics & Statistics, will be presented the Distinguished Alumnus Award. Dr V.K.Saraswat, Member-NITI Aayog and former Director General of DRDO, will be the chief guest. Justice L. Narasimha Reddy, Chancellor of the University will preside over the event.
