Chennai: The state unit of the BJP has said Governor Ch. Vidyasagar Rao efficiently handled the political challenges in Tamil Nadu and that nobody need to find fault with him.
While welcoming Governor Banwarilal Purohit who will take the reins, BJP state president Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan said one should not link the present political situation in Tamil Nadu with Mr Purohit's appointment as the Governor of the state. Thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the appointment, she extended her greetings to Purohit, and also thanked Rao for “efficiently handling the challenging” political situation in Tamil Nadu.
“Mr Purohit is equally adept at facing such challenging situations,” she said on Saturday and hailed his experience. “Under his guidance, it is for sure that Tamil Nadu will progress to a healthy situation,” she said and added that Vidhyasagar Rao's role should not be underestimated.
Union minister of state for finance snd Shipping Pon Radhakrishnan too extended his greetings to Mr Purohit.
Turning to the health scenario, Dr Tamilisai said although the state government geared up to tackle dengue outbreak, the fever was spreading at an alarming rate. “Though it is welcome that the government has launched the 24 hours Dengue helpline, it should think beyond conducting awareness programmes. For instance, special teams could be formed to monitor the treatment protocol and bring down the prevalence at private, PHC and Government Hospitals,” Dr Tamilisai suggested.
She said the BJP's medical wing would conduct a series of dengue awareness and prevention camps throughout TN, as part of its social commitment to eliminate mosquito menace and reduce the dengue prevalence.
