Visakhapatnam: In a tragic incident, a three-year-old boy Chintada Venkat Rao reportedly drowned to death after falling in an overflowing drain near his house at Ferry Road, Kotaveedhi under One-Town Police Station limits in the city on Friday morning.
One-Town inspector, K.V. Rao said that the boy had gone missing in between 9 am and 9.30 am and the parents Chintada Pydiraju and Padma and relatives searched for him till 2 pm. The parents thought that the boy might have been kidnapped by some childless parents.
However, around 3 pm, the fisherfolk found body of the boy floating in a canal near the Fishing Harbour area and alerted the police and boy’s father Pydiraju, who is also a fisherman. He was the only son of the couple. The police registered a case under Section 174 of CrPC and investigation is on.
